Marzipan Bliss Balls

With Easter coming up, I know I’ll want to indulge in one of my favourite treats: marzipan. Since the traditional treat is packed with sugar, I’ve come up with this healthy alternative, which tastes like and has the same texture as the original- you won’t be able to tell the  difference! This is gluten-free, dairy-free and refined sugar-free, requires no fancy equipment and not much time!

Makes 12 balls of marzipan

Ingredients:

130g ground almonds

2 tbsp. maple syrup

3 tbsp. coconut oil, melted

1 tsp natural almond essence

Method:

Mix all of the ingredients together to get a dough-like texture, adding a splash of water if it needs to be stickier. Mould it into 12 balls, or make more and top your Simnel cake with it! 

Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving.

    I see you use a lot of ground almonds. Do you grind them yourself? Do you use almond flour, meal? Thanks! Your recipes look wonderful.

      I do, they’re amazing! I buy ready-ground almonds, but almond flour is just a more finely ground version so it should work just as well as ground almonds. Thank you, I hope you give them a go! 🙂
