I am really into making my own nut butters at the moment, as they’re amazing stirred into porridge, blended into a smoothie or simply spread on some fruit or Banana Bread. My favourite ways to serve this is in my Praline Chocolate Spread and my Praline Chocolate Ice Cream (coming soon!) I recently made Toasted Pecan Butter and was so impressed with the flavour that toasting the nuts gave, that I had to do it again here! This is so easy to make- it only needs 1 ingredient! The aroma of toasted hazelnuts is reminiscent of nutella, and for a healthy twist on nutella, see my Praline Chocolate Spread.
Makes 1 jar
1.) Preheat the oven to 180°C fan. Pour the hazelnuts into a roasting tray and bake for about 8 minutes until golden and fragrant.
2.) Transfer to a food processor or powerful blender and keep blending until smooth. This will take a few minutes, so leave the machine to run, but every so often stop to scrape mixture down the sides. At first it will just become crumbly, but keep going and soon it should become smooth and sticky.
3.) Transfer to a sterilised jar and store in the fridge.
