A Berry Good Smoothie

First of all, please forgive the appalling pun. Secondly, I decided I would be brave…It was time for me to try a new smoothie combination. As much as I love my Choconut Smoothie, I needed a change. As the weather gets warmer, berries start to make a regular appearance, and so I’ve created a more summery, pretty pink smoothie for you to enjoy pre or post-workout, or even just as a snack. This smoothie is sweet and creamy thanks to the frozen banana, and the berries add a slightly tart and refreshing flavour. It’s a great source of carbs, healthy fats and protein, as well as antioxidants, to help you power through that workout or replenish your body afterwards.

Also, totally unintentional, but how well does it match my nail polish and watch?!

½ frozen banana

50g frozen raspberries and blackberries (you could do 25g of each or one or the other)

1 cube frozen spinach or 1 handful fresh spinach

1 scoop vanilla or unflavored protein powder (optional)

150ml almond milk

150ml water

1tbsp peanut butter (or almond butter if you prefer)

A pinch of cinnamon (optional)

Whizz it all up in your blender until it reaches a smooth and creamy consistency, adding more liquid if you prefer. Enjoy!
