Hey hey you lot! I apologise if it seems like I’ve been neglecting the blog a bit recently – I love blogging and honestly wish I could do so much more with it, but unfortunately A levels take up most of my time. However, I will still be sharing content with you all as often as I can, and I thought I’d start with this post. I haven’t done a ‘Favourites’ or ‘Wishlist’ post for a little while now, so I thought I’d better get that sorted!
First of all I wish you a Happy First of October – it’s getting more and more Autumnal by the minute. I love Autumn; it’s probably my favourite season. It’s something about the gorgeous golden leaves, comforting root vegetable soups and fresh seasonal produce, and of course, the return of warm, woolly jumpers. I love the crisp, cool mornings and that satisfying crunch of leaves beneath my feet. I also love the exciting arrival of fresh fruit and vegetables that you’d almost forgotten about because you haven’t seen them in a year, and thinking of ways to enjoy them as you unpack the farm delivery box. But I’m waxing lyrical now so I’ll cut to the chase.
Here I’m sharing a selection of Autumnal products that I either have and love, or that are on my ever-growing wishlist and still love. Please note that I am not being paid by any of these brands to advertise these products, as always these are my honest recommendations. I’ve linked each one to the brand’s sites, in case you’re interested!
Note: All photos belong to the brand that I’ve linked them to, unless stated otherwise.
If you follow me on Instagram then you’ll know that I am addicted to Pip & Nut’s peanut butter, but I’ve only just tried this limited edition flavour, and I’m already hooked! I love drizzling it over my Overnight Zoats or dolloping it on yoghurt.
Sweet Freedom is the company behind these incredible chocolate sauces – vegan, refined sugar-free and sweetened with fruit extract syrup. I love their orange spice flavour and it often makes a cheeky appearance on my Overnight Zoats!
The lovely Alexia (@thecurlykale), founder of Grain & Bowl, very kindly sent me some of her gorgeous granola to try, and I decided that it absolutely had to be put on this list. This delicious granola is sweetened with pure maple syrup and coconut sugar and the flavour combinations are perfect. I love sprinkling it over natural yoghurt for a snack. It comes in Maple N’ Pecan or Cardamom Spice and I would recommend both. Follow them on Instagram for more granola pictures!
This tea has warming, spicy orange-infused flavours which I find really calming, and I like sipping it in front of the TV in the evening.
5.) Teapigs Chai Tea
While I’m on the topic of tea, I have to recommend this tea – it is slightly pricey but I think it’s worth it. Tea temples filled with generous amounts of spices, including whole cardamom pods. I take mine strong, sometimes black, or sometimes with a dash of Rude Health brown rice milk.
6.) Turmeric Latte
Yes, another drink. But I do find that as the weather gets cooler, I look forward to and enjoy many more hot drinks. This one is ideal for Autumn. I first tried one at Planet Organic where I fell in love with it, and have since re-made it at home (although admittedly it’s never as good as PO’s version). A comforting, spicy blend including Rude Health’s brown rice milk, turmeric and cinnamon. It’s pretty straightforward to make your own, too!
If you’ve been following me from the very beginning then you’ll know that I have been a huge fan of the Hemsley sisters, Jasmine and Melissa, for ages now. They are some of the most generous ladies I know and very kindly let me do work experience with them a couple of years ago (which you can read about here). I love their ethos, their lovely personalities and of course, their wonderful recipes. This grain free, refined sugar-free ginger cake is nutrient-dense, moist and absolutely delicious, with the perfect fiery kick from the ginger. Served with one of the hot drinks I’ve mentioned, this is one of my favourite warming afternoon snacks!
On to the fitness side of things! I’m actually more of a silver person (it also suits me better) but I was really drawn to this gorgeous golden pair! I love metallic materials, and gold seems like a more Autumnal choice. (Click here to view the silver version).
So clearly I am very busy fangirling over this collection at the moment. I normally tend to go for bright colours (or just black!) but for some reason I really like this more neutral pair. Definitely going on my never-ending wishlist.
No, it’s not edible and no, you can’t wear it. But it’s safe to say that I am 100% obsessed with this candle. Every time I sit at my desk, I light it and it honestly makes homework that little bit easier! Its warm, spicy scent is the essence of Autumn and it’s a really good-quality candle containing nothing nasty. The scent fills my bedroom and lasts for quite some time after too – it’s absolutely gorgeous and great as a gift (especially to yourself!)
